Open to children ages 6 to 12, this day camp provides a spring break filled with games, creative activities, and sports. Every day at The Dome’s camp features a wide range of group activities, focused on everything from athletic movement to creative exploration. Kids will have a terrific experience each day with opportunities to grow emotionally, mentally, and physically. Each day is packed, and we’ll be doing everything from soccer and football to laser tag and RC cars!

Operating Camp Safely During COVID-19

In order to keep our staff and our campers safe, and to comply with state and local requirements, we’ll be operating Spring Break Camp at The Dome with the same safeguards as our Summer Camp.

Drop-Off
8:00am-9:00am

To drop campers off each morning, parents and guardians will first fill out our screening questions on their phone here. Vehicles will line up for the drop-off area where they’ll be met by an attendant. The first attendant will check kids’ temperatures with a touchless thermometer, then confirm the screening questions have been logged. The second attendant will check the camper in. A counselor from the camper’s group will help the camper sanitize their hands before escorting them into the building.

Capacity

Within groups, our staff members will stay with a group all day as their dedicated camp counselors. This includes all activities, sports, games, snacks, and lunch. Staff assigned to a group will be with that group all week long.
We’ll be practicing 6-foot physical distancing during activities like meals, craft projects, and reading. Campers will learn about physical distancing, handwashing, and other important practices in age-appropriate ways.
During physical exertion, we’ll be modeling and practicing 10-foot physical distancing to the greatest degree possible. We are working hard to strike a careful and reasonable balance, allowing kids to run and play while still being as cautious as we can.
Our air-supported building is different than most indoor facilities: by its very nature, it’s constantly circulating 10 million cubic feet of fresh air, drawn in through the intakes and pushed out the exhaust vents.

The Dome’s Spring Break Camp Is Packed With Fun!

Every week, campers will get to drive on our incredible new remote control car obstacle course! We’re moving the course each day so every groups gets a day of RC each week.
Campers will be playing Laser Tag on our state-of-the-art course every week! Our equipment can operate anywhere in the facility, so we’ll bring the fun to each group one day each week.
Sports and games which don’t require touching have a big green light! We’re going to be running around every day!
Our arts & crafts are going to be as fun as ever! We’ve equipped every camper with their own art supplies, including colored pencils and Perler beads.
Games are still happening every day! In our popular bingo matches, campers can win real prizes to take home. How does a big LEGO set sound?

We’ve got a 180,000 square foot playground here at The Dome, and we make the most of it! This fall, we’re providing our campers a huge range of activities to keep their minds and bodies moving. The turf is yours, the track is yours, The Dome is yours! Kids will even get to enjoy our new, state of the art laser tag system. Join us in the largest indoor playground in Alaska!

Meet the staff

David

Hello! I’m David, the Director of Programs here at The Dome. I was born and raised here in Alaska, and earned my bachelor’s degree in physical education while competing as a track & field athlete at University of Alaska - Anchorage. My goal is to create an environment of health, safety, and lots of fun! I oversee all programs at The Dome, including our hugely popular NFL Flag Football program which brings in hundreds of kids each season. I’m excited for another fun Spring Break Camp!

Nick

Hello! My name is Nick and I’m here to help our campers enjoy another fun filled summer at The Dome. I’ve been with The Dome since 2018, and working at camps even longer. I am very much looking forward to getting Spring Break Camp underway!

Amy

Hi, I’m Amy! I’m from Virginia, where I graduated from Old Dominion University in 2019 with a degree in Sport Management. I moved to Alaska last May for an internship with Alaska Rugby. I love rugby, working in sport and recreation programs, and adventuring outdoors! I can’t wait for my third camp here at The Dome!

Colter

Hi, I’m Colter. I am a lifelong Alaskan and I recently graduated from UAA with a degree in fire science. I like to bike, swim, do mixed martial arts, and play video games. I am looking forward to Spring Break Camp at The Dome and seeing all our campers!

Talha

Hi! My name is Talha and I’m a sophomore at UAA. I love spending time outdoors whether it’s hiking, playing soccer, or snowmachining. I’ve lived in Anchorage for more than 10 years now and I’m really looking forward to seeing you for another awesome camp at The Dome!

Rad Laser Tag!

Kids will even get to enjoy our new, state of the art laser tag system.

RACE RC CARS!

Our remote control cars will be fully charged and ready for action on the Rally Lights Raceway and the Timber Crawl obstacle course.

We are centrally located at Raspberry and Minnesota, minutes away from downtown, southside, and midtown.

What Will My Camper Need To Bring?

Every camper will need to bring the following items with them each day. Campers each have an individual enclosed cubby (plastic tote) they can store items in.

Water bottle - our touchless bottle filler is available and sanitized every hour with a food-grade sanitizer.

Two snacks and one lunch - please use insulated bags and ice packs as needed if food must stay cold. Due to our enhanced safety practices we cannot heat kids’ food for them.

Active clothing & footwear - kids will be running around throughout the day. Send your camper wearing clothes and shoes they’ll be safe and comfortable playing hard in.

Free early drop off

Campers can be dropped off as early as 8:00 AM and picked up as late as 4:00 PM.

Camp registration must be completed by 7:00 PM the previous day.

Cancellation policy

A processing fee of $50 is included in the price of camp. Individuals who cancel or modify their registration and request a refund 4 weeks or more in advance of their camper’s first registered day will receive a full refund minus the processing fee.
